  • The Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!) is the recipient of a $30,000 grant from PetSmart Charities to help reduce unwanted cat and dog populations in Baldwin County. The grant will fund a low cost spay/neuter program for more than 800 pets in families with incomes of less than $30,000 or with anyone in the household on Medicaid. Qualified individuals or families can obtain a spay/neuter voucher at the low cost of $20 for a cat or $30 for a dog. Click here for details.



     
  • More than 100 furry friends gathered for the 2nd Annual Howl-O-Ween Spooky Pooch Parade and costume contest at The Wharf. People and their costumed pets (including Oliver the piglet) from Pensacola, Slidell, Birmingham and all points in-between supported the fundraiser for the Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!)

Shelby County Alabama, represented by community partners Shelby Humane Society and Shelby County Department of Environmental Services, has been chosen by the ASPCA as one of two communities in the United States as 2009 JAMO, or "Join ASPCA Mission: Orange" communities.   • Hale County Shelter Opening

Congrats on the opening of the brand new Humane Shelter in Hale County, Alabama on 16 march 2009! Hale County is a very rural county in the western-central part of our state (biggest town - Greensboro). With such a great group of supporters we are sure we can expect great things from this brand new shelter family! Congratulations!!
