OTHER STATES ON PET IMPORT

PENNSYLVANIA STATE DOG LAW EXCERPT:  OUT-OF-STATE DEALER LICENSE  (yes, applies to shelter/rescue transfers)

The attached excerpt of Pennsylvania State Dog Law in regards to dogs being transferred or shipped into Pennsylvania is important for all shelters to know in the event you are working with a rescue group in Pa, shipping adoptable pets to Pa or doing shelter/shelter transfers to Pa.  Bottom line is you must have a "Pennsylvania Out-of-State Kennel Dealer's License" (attached) which can run from $375 - 800 per year and there are no exceptions/allowances for shelters to get this at any different rate.  There are also significant rules that apply to moving animals into Pennsylvania even after you have this license.  It appears the state of Pa is being more rigorous in checking in-state records of animal sources, so be aware of this legal requirement before shipping any dogs to Pa.
