Humane Society of Elmore County, Wetumpka, AL looking for a dedicated person to come on board as our Feline Care Manager.  Primarily  responsible for the direct feline animal care including the health, temperament evaluation, cleaning protocols, euthanasia, adoption screening and foster programs for felines.  Assists the Director and Animal Care Manager with other daily operational duties of the shelter. Forty hour per week position with a changing schedule, including weekends.  Applicant must possess a current Alabama Driver's License, pass a drug screen and be insurable by the shelter’s insurance carrier. Euthanasia Certification is required (or must be obtained within one-year of employment).

The Lee County Humane Society (LCHS) seeks a motivated, compassionate, forward thinking individual to serve as executive director of  our open admission facility in Auburn, AL. The ED coordinates and oversees all employees, departments and activities of the LCHS including but not limited to daily operations, fundraising, educational programs, budget development and fiscal management, and serves as the shelter's chief media spokesperson and official representative to governmental agencies, organizations and donors.  Managerial experience and a commitment to animal care/welfare programs required.  Preferred candidate also has the ability to work well with the public, volunteers, and employees; 2+ years of college; euthanasia certification or willingness to obtain certification. The rescue barn (gbhsrescuebarn.org) is complete and full! We are looking for a person who is able to handle the work and care of our livestock, mostly equine. The animals in our care are from cruelty cases that have been confiscated by the Jefferson County Sheriff Office. Most of the animals are in poor condition and need special diets, medical care and hands on comforting. We would like someone with good equine experience and a willingness to work hard. The attachment is the job description and the web site is informative in explaining the mission and goal of this wonderful facility. Candidates considered for the position will have reference checks , pre-hire drug test and a background check.
