LATEST NEWS &
UPDATES
The Alabama Spay/Neuter Clinic has recently purchased a cargo van and will
later be buying a box truck to transport both shelter animals and the public's
animals to the Clinic for surgery from the counties of:
Bibb
Blount
Calhoun
Chilton
Cullman
Etowah
Jefferson
St. Clair
Talladega
Tuscaloosa
Walker
If you live in or near one of these counties, please consider volunteering to
help with the transport. Volunteers will be needed to schedule, collect fees, do
paperwork and on transport day---get the animals processed and on the van. The
next day people will be needed when the animals are returned to their owners.
The Clinic will be providing the van and the driver at no charge . The only fees
will be for surgery and if needed, for rabies.
All the folks in animal welfare are over-worked and as you know too well,
volunteers are hard to recruit so please make this a priority. We are all going
to have to work hard to educate the public about this program and then follow
thru to make it happen. I know each of you would like to be able to say that
your shelter is a no-kill shelter. It can happen, it does happen! Wouldn't it be
wonderful to have a no-kill state???
If you have crates, any size, please think about donating them---all animals
must be crated for transport. This would be a great project for fundraising or
to approach your local pet store about. Yard sales are often a great source too.
Please contact me so that I can let you know who is already working in your
county to get this up and running. We need your help!
Thank you,
