You do not have to be a member of AACA or AHF to attend this conference though we, of course, do encourage you to join either AACA or AHF or better yet BOTH and lend your voice to our efforts.

And there are opportunities for fun as well as other Conference Events include:
15 April – Free Baron’s Baseball Game
16 April – Welcome Reception at the Hyatt Place
17 April – Another free Baron’s Baseball Game or $15 tickets to the Comedy Club Star Dome

As with any conference, having a robust attendance is what will make it a true success, so please plan accordingly and go ahead and get your registration packets mailed in. If you did not receive one and would like one, please contact Robert Davis (Conference Coordinator) at (205) 444-7760 or davisr@ci.hoover.al.us and I know he will be happy to send you a packet (thank you Robert for being the point man on this as we know it is a lot of work). And you can see the AACA President’s note below not only about this as well, but that we are looking for a T-Shirt design, so don’t forget to submit your great idea!!

  • Euthanasia by Injection Certification Class July 24th and 25th

There will be a Euthanasia by Injection Certification Class July 24th and 25th at the Montgomery Humane Shelter in Montgomery and the class will be conducted by Dr. Karen Sheppard, DVM, Director, City of Huntsville Animal Services.  This training will be through the American Humane Association but they don’t yet have this posted to their website for registration. I’ll send out a notice when they do but would expect pricing to be similar to their other euthanasia by injection classes held elsewhere.  In the interim, let Lea Turbert (see below) at Montgomery Shelter know if you need a slot.  Many folks out there who attended the first certification three years ago at AUM in Montgomery are in need of recertification, so check your records to make sure.  And new people needing certified are also welcome.  Please pass along to anyone else who make need this class!
