  • 2nd QTR meeting on Thursday, 15 January 2009


Alabama Humane Federation and the Alabama Animal Control Association for our 2nd QTR meeting on Thursday, 15 January 2009 at:

10 am for the AACA meeting
1 pm for the AHF meeting

Now here’s the twist! So that we can better plan for the upcoming April AACA/AHF Conference, we will be meeting at the conference location in Orange Beach, Alabama!!! This will be great for everyone located in the southern part of the state but we know it will be quite a drive for those in the northern half.

For those AHF members who cannot attend, our meeting minutes will be posted to the website afterwards so you can keep up with legislative priorities, conference planning, and other AHF issues.

  • 2009 Euthanasia Training Schedule for Alabama by American Humane

American Humane is offering Euthanasia by Injection Training in Birmingham, March 11 & 12, 2009 at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, 300 Snow Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209.

Cost for American Humane members is $187 and for non-members is $220 (Agency annual membership with AH is $119 and Individual membership is $59).

You must register by February 20th, 2009.

If you have not received a letter from American Humane about this course you can go to their website here or call AH to get a registration form at 303/792-9900, ext 1467

Remember, re-certification in Alabama is every three years, so if you are coming due, take advantage of this training right here in Alabama.

  • Alabama Animal Control Association/Alabama Humane Federation Conference

The annual Alabama Animal Control Association/Alabama Humane Federation Conference is coming up soon in Orange Beach, Alabama, 15 - 17 April 2009

  • Benefit for Clarke County Regional Animal Care and Control Facility

 We are trying to raise funds to get the Clarke County Regional Animal Care and Control Facility up and going. We will be having a horse back trail ride May 2, 2009 through one of the most beautiful parts of Clarke County. The ride will leave at 9 am. You will need to bring a bag lunch and your own horses. If you do not have a horse there will be hay wagon rides provided. Pork and chicken BBQ supper will also be provided at 4pm. There will be an auction of various goods and services at 5pm. Karaoke and dancing will be from 8 pm until. Bring your chairs and enjoy a night under the stars in the country. Everyone is welcome. This is a family event so alcohol is prohibited. Primitive camping will be provided at NO additional cost. Donations are welcome. Wristbands will be sold at the gates for $30 per family (family of 5) or $15 per person. The wristband is good for all day or any functions that you would like to attend. All of the proceeds will go toward starting an animal care and control facility that will serve Clarke, Washington, and Choctaw counties.
