MEMBERSHIP Benefits of membership: AHF Membership
The Alabama Humane Federation has two types of membership – organizational and individual.
In accordance with the By-Laws of the Alabama Humane Federation, the following categories of membership apply:
“Organizational memberships shall have the right to four votes, which shall be cast by representatives designated in writings deposited with the Secretary of the Corporation. Organizational members may be elected to serve as officers or directors, but must designate individuals who will serve in that capacity for the entire term, who may not serve in an individual capacity as directors or officers. No member shall hold more than one membership in the Corporation. Except as expressly provided in or authorized by the Articles of Incorporation, these Bylaws, or provisions of law, all memberships shall have the same rights, privileges, restrictions, and conditions.”
Applicants shall be admitted to membership by agreeing to the AHF member code of conduct noted below and submitting the membership fee with the application. As a member of the Alabama Humane Federation, I pledge to adhere to the following Code of Conduct: 1. To work towards the overall improvement of animal welfare in Alabama by acting as a unified voice in support of animal welfare issues. 2. To support the legislative, education and collaborative efforts of the AHF. 3. To bring forth areas of concern, dispute or disagreement to the leadership of the AHF in a timely manner so that such issues can be resolved by the Federation leadership and/or membership. 4. To ensure my organization and I, personally, adhere to or exceed all state and local laws regarding the humane care, treatment, housing, adoption and euthanasia of animals and to those guidelines established by the AHF. 5. To work as contributing member of the Federation by attending meetings as much as individually possible, assisting with legislative work, helping each other, and sharing ideas and information to contribute to the success of each organization and the Federation. 6. To represent the Federation professionally to the public and the media so as to bring credit to the AHF and the animal rescue/control profession. 7. To respond in a timely manner to requests for information from AHF members and leadership to help the Federation in its endeavors. 8. To promote the Federation to others who should join the AHF and to further the public’s knowledge of the AHF and its mission.
Membership dues are renewable annually at the rate noted below: Organizational membership: $100.00 Individual membership: $25.00

The Alabama Humane Federation is a 501(c)4
organization and does not engage in any political activity or partisan
campaigning as defined in § 501 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Alabama Humane
Federation does engage in lobbying or issue campaigning as defined in § 501 of
the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to the Alabama Humane Federation are not
tax-deductible, and donations, distributions, and membership fees paid to the
Alabama Humane Federation should be treated as direct lobbying expenditures as
